Frequently Asked Questions

Earning your Green Consultant certification introduces you to a broad range of topics that provide a great foundation for your education. Use our business plan for success or move in another direction. Your credentials are the start you'll need or an exciting and lucrative career as a certified Green Consultant. By becoming a Green coach or mentor, you work with area companies offering training and assistance to install the Green program

Is this a true consulting program?
Other than going to college for four years, we feel that there is no other course offering as broad a range of material as you will find in our program. Be aware that after your three days of training, we will continue to provide a year-long post training of all students via video, websites, and download over the Internet.

Are there fees for my Consulting service?
The program is based on the number of employees.  The training prices are already posted in our three level program.  Your fees are earned through training and support.  A leverage company should yield $2500 to $5000 per year in fees.

Why should I take all the Courses?  I already know a lot!

Teachings and mentors need a pattern of training to follow.  Even though you may know many of the elements of what is taught, you need to view this as preparing to teach others who are not as knowledgeable as you.  We provide the tools for you to offer these training classes that create a very loyal clientele.

How successful is the Green Consultant program?

It depends.  If you sit around waiting for the phone to ring or your website to produce clients, you will go broke.  If you are active in your community and promote your training program to companies, you can calculate your income.  Ten good companies at $2500 equal $25,000 a year.  Twenty companies move you to $50,000.  Larger clients pay more, and other services offered can turn this into a six-figure income,

Is this part of LEED?

No. LEED is primarily focused on building certification even as Green Seal is primarily focused on product certification. We commend LEED and Green Seal for their efforts.  This program is for developing companies wishing to install a Green program.  In most cases, companies that 3 to 5 years to achieve a strong level of proficiency.  This means your clients will be with you for years.

What kind of support does a Green Consultant enjoy?

Check the curriculum tab to find a very powerful training course. We provide a year long process of constant support and communication, and all consultants enjoy direct access to our resources sites and live help.

What are the requirements for Green Consultant training?

This program is not for everyone. A passion for environmental issues and business applications is probably the most important asset. If you have experience in some aspect of environmental, real estate, construction, janitorial, building inspection, energy, heat and cooling, etc; this may be helpful. Reading skills and enthusiasm is all it really takes.

Are there territories or exclusive areas?
No. The market is too large to allow for territories. Some potential clients are multi-city and multi-state meaning you are free to go anywhere or to call on other Green consultants to help you handle the job.

Can I specialize in an area that I like?

Yes. Our program is a broad base that will have many opportunities for unique applications. You are welcome to pioneer niche markets. If you keep us informed of your progress, we will divide a section in our Green Consultant forum for other people working in similar areas of interest.

Must I Renew my Certificate each Year with CEUs?

Yes. This is not a one-shot project. We believe that training is continuous and essential to proper operation of your consulting business. Each year, all students will be required to renew their certificate and complete a training program that we anticipate will be provided by extension learning. Renewals are a flat $250 each year including your Continuing Education programming.

Will I be able to "Certify" residential homes and Commercials businesses?

Yes, but each program has its own requirements and extra training will add to your credentials.  For example, Energy Star can be added to your services (and your fees).  You might add in carbon accounting or offset.  Local and state programs may have additional requirements.  Let the client decide how far to take the program, and charge for the assistance that you offer.

How long does it take to complete my training?

We suggest that it will take 30 days or less depending on your background, available time, and reading skills.  There seems little doubt that anyone can complete the training in 90 days or less even with a pressing schedule.  To make it more affordable, you may take the training in three levels and payments, or get a discount by purchasing all three segments at once.  As with most educational programs, there are no refunds permitted once the program is purchased.
